“Unemployable” - Pearl Jam
This is kind of a random song of a pretty generally mediocre album, but it brings back a lot of nostalgia. I bought Pearl Jam, the band’s 2006 eponymous album, a week or two after it came out and about a month before I graduated from eighth grade. I’ve got a bunch of random memories associated with it.
I vividly remember walking down University Avenue in Palo Alto in the school-definitely-shouldn’t-still-be-in-session lazy evening warmth after a super filling meal at the Cheesecake Factory. It was the night before my audition with the Logan band. I was nervous at that time in my life for a lot of reasons, but I remember most was loving my family. I miss that a lot now.
Also, sitting on a porch that summer looking out over a Hawaiian beach. Seems like yesterday, but also forever ago.
